Overview Base pay range $50,926.00/yr - $63,892.00/yr This is a continual posting and will be used to fill positions as they become vacant prior to the end of the posting date. Responsibilities Some examples of work for this position are listed below but not limited to the following: Function: Road Surface/Roadway Maintenance Perform all activities required for roadside maintenance Perform all roadway surface maintenance activities Service and make minor repairs to operating equipment Provide traffic control Perform basic construction monitoring duties and basic inspection activities Other duties as required Function: Snow and Ice Maintains roadways for snow and ice control Prepares and inspects winter equipment Performs preseason snow route inspection and performs post storm cleanup Performs winter stockpile setup and transfer of anti-icing and de-icing chemicals Performs all work related to installing, repairing, maintaining, and removing snow fences; replacing mailboxes Minimum qualifications One year of experience performing activities in snow and ice, soils, road surface maintenance, roadside maintenance, bridge maintenance, signs or related activities (roadway maintenance, driving commercial vehicles, landscaping, operating heavy equipment or farm experience) AND *Must possess a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with no Air Brake Restriction and obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License with no Air Brake Restriction and Tanker Endorsement within 5-months of placement into the position . (You may be required to obtain a Tanker Endorsement sooner than 5-months.) * Education: Successful completion of a Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance Program (of at least 60 semester credits; or 90 quarter credits) will substitute for one year of experience. (In order for education coursework to be considered in lieu of work experience you must submit a copy of your transcripts). Veterans may be eligible for a waiver of CDL based on military experience.
