Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Freight Broker role based in Naperville, IL. The Freight Broker will coordinate freight movements by sourcing and negotiating with carriers, securing capacity, and matching loads to appropriate transportation solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and managing a portfolio of shipper and carrier accounts, handling incoming load requests, dispatching carriers, and monitoring shipments to ensure timely pick-up and delivery. The role requires proactive communication with customers and carriers, resolving service issues, and updating all parties on shipment status and exceptions. The Freight Broker will also maintain accurate records in the company’s systems, follow pricing and margin guidelines, and support continuous improvement in logistics processes.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Freight Brokerage and Brokerage activities, including sourcing carriers, negotiating rates, and matching shipments with available capacity.
• Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to respond promptly to inquiries, manage expectations, and build long-term client relationships.
• Experience in Dispatching, including coordinating driver schedules, providing load details, and tracking shipments from origin to destination.
• Account Management capabilities, such as maintaining and growing shipper and carrier accounts, monitoring performance, and identifying new opportunities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confident phone and email communication with customers and carriers.
• Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple loads and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort with computer-based work, including TMS or logistics platforms, spreadsheets, and basic data entry.
• Minimum 4 years demonstrable industry experience required
• Book of business required

Compensation

$50,000 Salary + 40% Commission from Gross Margin

Compensation structure is open to discussion and may be adjusted based on experience, qualifications, and existing book of business.
